When traveling outside of the United States, a valid passport is required.
Many countries will not allow entry if your passport expires within six months of your travel dates (even if it hasn’t technically expired yet), so it’s essential to double-check your expiration date.
In addition, your reservation must be booked under your legal name exactly as it appears on your passport, as the airline and resort will require a perfect match. For domestic travel within the U.S., be aware that a Real ID is required to board flights.”

after you book your trip

If you’re flying outside of the United States, yes—you must have a valid passport. There are no exceptions.
📌 Tips for Passport Safety:
Take a picture of your passport and store it securely on your phone.
Carry a paper copy in a safe place while you travel.
Leave another copy at home with someone you trust, in case of emergency.
Expiration Rules:
Many countries require that your passport be valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates. If your passport is set to expire within that timeframe, renew it before your trip to avoid being denied entry.Cruises:
If your cruise begins and ends at the same U.S. port, you may sail with a government-issued photo ID (such as a Real ID - driver’s license) and a certified birth certificate.
If the cruise departs from one port and ends at another, or stops in certain countries, a passport is required.
Our Recommendation:
We always suggest traveling with a passport, even on cruises. If an emergency arises and you need to fly home unexpectedly, you will not be able to board a flight without one. It’s always best to be prepared. -
You will need a credit card at check-in for your resort deposit. Resorts typically place a ‘hold’ of about $100 per day for incidentals, which is released at checkout if no charges are made.
Leave your debit card at home—it’s much safer. If fraudulent charges occur on a debit card while abroad, the process to resolve them can be extremely time-consuming compared to handling it in the U.S.
Always travel with a credit card. Even if you don’t plan to use it often, it’s important to have on hand for purchases or unexpected expenses.
Travel Tip: Call your credit card company before you leave to notify them of your travel dates and destinations. Otherwise, your card may be declined for security reasons.

Each airline is different. Check the airline website to check for cost, baggage size and weight limitations. They are very strict on weight limitation, if your bag is overweight there is a substantial overweight fee.
-
The liquids that you bring in your carry-on must be 3.4 ounces or less (shampoo, conditioner, perfume, hair gel, hair spray, etc.). Your liquids MUST be in a quart size ziplock bag.
Make sure all your medications are in your carry-on (incase your luggage is lost - you will have your medication), be sure they are in the original medicine bottle with prescription label.
The 3-1-1 Rule for liquids is:
The 3-1-1 Rule refers to three core components that govern how many liquids you can bring in your carry-on bags: Each liquid must be in a 3.4-ounce or less container ("3"), all containers must be placed inside one clear quart-sized plastic bag ("1"), and each passenger is only allowed one plastic bag ("1").Jun 26, 2019. This is subject to chance so always check the airline website or the TSA website.
Keep your flight and resort information, your passports and an ink pen in your carry-on. You may need these three items when on your flight to your international destination to fill out the immigration forms. Make certain that you sign your forms as they can make you get out of line if it is unsigned.
Bring the following in your carry-on in case you can’t sleep on the plane or are delayed:
a book,
magazine,
cell phone,
iPad, chargers, etc
You can not have anything that could be considered weapon, including a small pocketknife, lighters, metal fingernail file, etc.

As I mentioned in the “Before You Book FAQs”, if you didn’t purchase travel insurance then, I strongly encourage you to do so now. Life is unpredictable, and travel insurance helps protect you from the unexpected. Be sure the policy you choose includes coverage for flights, trip interruption, lost luggage, cancellation, theft, and medical needs. Some plans even include emergency evacuation or hurricane coverage.
If you were to get sick or injured while on vacation, medical coverage is especially important—you don’t want to be left paying out of pocket or charging expenses to your credit card. Many employer-provided health insurance policies don’t cover international travel, and if they do, you often must pay upfront and seek reimbursement later. Having travel insurance ensures you’re protected and gives you peace of mind while you’re away.
-
I recommend $250.00 - $500.00 in cash in case of an emergency or if you want to purchase items from the vendors that come to the resorts or while shopping.
Make sure you put your cash and valuables in the safe when you are not in the room.
Bring small dollar amounts ($1 & $5) for tips or purchases where the vendor may not have US money to give you change. -
Contact your cell phone provider before departing. Each carrier and plan have different rules and coverage.
An example, with my plan I pay $10.00 additional per day for unlimited voice and data when using my phone internationally. A friend of mine has another carrier and they have worldwide unlimited data and calling. These are examples of why you need to check with your carrier to find out what your plan covers and if you don’t have coverage find out what the cost would be prior to travel.
If you don’t have international coverage and don’t want to pay additional fees, you should put your phone in airplane mode and when you get to the resort turn on WiFi. You can access social media and emails through the resorts WiFi. You can also FaceTime or call through Facebook while on WiFi.
